Rangers vs Celtc – League Cup Semi Final

That time is almost upon as we return to hostilities with our old enemy although we don’t need to take out a full page newspaper advert to tell you that….
The league cup semi-final will be shown live in Trafalgar on Sunday evening with a 21.30 kick-off.
As we would expect a larger than normal turn out for this match, I have asked Trafalgar to reserve a few more tables than usual and to look at the possibility of putting the game on a few more screens. I would advise everyone to get there sharpish and in good time for the match just in case there are any other matches on involving those not as successful as the most successful club side in the world so that we can all get installed with a good view of the match.

We will also be holding a “first & last goalscorer” raffle with tickets only available pre-match. Tickets will be $200 each with up to $2000 available in prize money. All proceeds raised will be going to purchase another 1872 life membership in Rangers First, which you may have noticed yesterday breached the 1 million share mark. If you combine Rangers First with the RST Buy Rangers campaign the fan groups now own 2.5% of the club. Combined they have almost 11,000 members contributing monthly payments from as little as £5.  If you haven’t joined up yet, please do so to either or both.

Buy Rangers & Rangers First

Rangers now have 2 active fan ownership schemes that allow contributions from overseas from as little as £5 a month. They are both very easy to set up and it should only take 5-10 minutes maximum.
They are Rangers First & Buy Rangers (Ran by the Rangers Supporters Trust). Both schemes involve purchasing shares in Rangers, so have a look at both websites and decide which one you feel more aligned to, or if you like sign up for both.

Buy Rangers  http://www.therst.co.uk/buy-rangers/

Both schemes have seen a huge upsurge in members just in the last month, with both looking to breach the 5,000 member mark in the coming days.
There has also been a number of high profile fans & ex-players join either or both schemes too such as:

Richard Gough has joined both Buy Rangers as well as Rangers First.

.
Both Jorg Albertz and Claudio Reyna are both life members of the Rangers First Club 1872, which involves a one-off £500 contribution. (The Hong Kong RSC & ORSA are 1872 life members).

.
Scottish Commonwealth athlete Lynsey Sharp joined the RST last week:

.

Golfer Alastair Forsyth has joined up to both schemes:

.
Hong Kong RSC member George Taylor of “The 3 Bears” is also a member of both schemes and has publicly backed them.

Many more are expected to follow.
.
So please spend a little bit of time to look at the schemes and sign up to at least one, if not both.

It is vitally important we keep the momentum going on this, so once you are sorted, please help spread the word to you family & friends and encourage them to get on board too!

This is all about strength in numbers and a chance to show that we really are the people!

Scottish Cup vs Dumbarton

Bears

For those of you who attended the Richard Keys and Andy Gray evening on Thursday night, I’m sure you had a very enjoyable time. I certainly did, although my head didn’t quite agree with that this morning. Good fun at the time…

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising last night and great to see such an impressive amount of cash raised for a very worthy charity.

On the footballing side, after the midweek win over the Saints in the League Cup, we move to Scottish Cup duty this weekend and at the same ground where we played last weekend.

We face Dumbarton in the Cup and the game will be shown as usual in Trafalgar in Wanchai with an 11pm kick-off tomorrow. Remember the clocks have gone back in the UK so games now an hour later for us, so hopefully we will do the business tomorrow and avoid a midweek replay.

See you tonight.

Cheers,

Darren Hosie

Game Tonight & RSC Update

Thanks to those that attended the recent AGM. It was a relief to finally get it done after a few call-offs!
 .
Some of the key highlights include a few changes to committee positions including myself standing down as president – 10 years has been quite enough!
I’d therefore like to formally congratulate Darren Hosie as the new president of the club – he is a virtual ever-present at all the games, so I know we are in very good hands.
Personally, I will continue on as part of the committee as I have replaced Richard Bulgin as secretary. Thanks for your efforts Richard.
Thanks also go out to our outgoing treasurer Gary Stewart who will be departing Hong Kong shortly. Alistair MacLeod has stepped forward to replace Gary.
Also thanks to Brian Buchanan for his help on the committee prior to his departure back to Scotland.
In my new role, I’ll endeavour to get the minutes out from the AGM in the not to distant future.
 .
Gary & Keys Dinner
I’m delighted to say we have filled up our first table for the upcoming charity dinner with Andy Gray & Richard Keys. A number of you contacted me to say you are still waiting on work & travel commitments, so at the moment we have our second table half filled too. If any of you know for sure now, please let me know, or if you have still to get in touch, please do so as soon as possible.
 .
Rangers v Livingston (a)
For the match tonight, this will be shown live in the Trafalgar – there was a doubt as they had some (much needed!) renovations this week, but all has been completed and the bar will be open for us as normal. Kick-off is 10pm and will be shown via Rangers TV.

The Hong Kong RSC join Rangers First “Club 1872”

The Hong Kong Rangers Supporters Club are proud to announce that we have joined Rangers First with a “Club 1872” life membership.

We would also strongly encourage all other fans to also join up at whatever level they can. Monthly subscriptions start from as little as £5 a month.

Rangers First if also available to overseas fans, so it is now the time to use our vast global fan base and start the ball rolling to get more say in what is going on at our club.

It has been hugely encouraging to see the Rangers First membership grow substantially in the last few days alone with 140 new members yesterday alone edging the membership close to the 2,000 mark – so there is a very strong chance the membership in Rangers First will have doubled in the space of a week! Let’s keep the momentum going and help spread the word!

So be sure to sign up and join an ever expanding group of like-minded fans who only want the best for our club.

For more details on joining please go to: http://www.rangersfirst.org/

Both ORSA & the Perth RSC are already Rangers First Club 1872 life members!

Strength in numbers.

Rangers v Queen of the South – 10pm tonight!

Tonight Rangers welcome Queen of the South to Ibrox which should provide a decent enough test for Rangers following convincing wins recently against Clyde & Dumbarton.

Kick-off is 10pm and will be screened live in the Trafalgar via Rangers TV.
