Hong Kong RSC AGM – Tonight 8pm @ The Trafalgar

Bears,
Another Edinburgh team today as we take on Hearts at Ibrox. No shock that Ryan Jack has been cleared to play after last week’s shocking referee display.
The game will be shown live in Trafalgar in Wanchai with a 10pm kick-off.

The HKRSC AGM will also be held before the match tonight in Trafalgar. It will start at 8pm.

See you tonight

Cheers,
Darren

It’s all about The Rangers

The small matter of playing against a new club…………or so they like to tell us!!

As we all know, we face the team from the East of the city on Saturday in the first old firm game of the season at Parkhead.

It will be amazing to see how many empty seats are in the home end as I don’t think many of them will turn up for a small game against such a newly formed club. Then again, who am I to argue against their kind of logic??? Usually I just laugh at it.

The game will be shown live in Trafalgar in Wanchai as usual with a 7pm kick off HK time. We expect it to be pretty busy as usual for this game so I would recommend arriving sharp. We will have the game on a number of screens so hopefully everyone will get a good view of the match.

Let’s hope for a good match and a victory!

See you on Saturday

Cheers,

Darren

Rangers vs Celtc – League Cup Semi Final

That time is almost upon as we return to hostilities with our old enemy although we don’t need to take out a full page newspaper advert to tell you that….
The league cup semi-final will be shown live in Trafalgar on Sunday evening with a 21.30 kick-off.
As we would expect a larger than normal turn out for this match, I have asked Trafalgar to reserve a few more tables than usual and to look at the possibility of putting the game on a few more screens. I would advise everyone to get there sharpish and in good time for the match just in case there are any other matches on involving those not as successful as the most successful club side in the world so that we can all get installed with a good view of the match.

We will also be holding a “first & last goalscorer” raffle with tickets only available pre-match. Tickets will be $200 each with up to $2000 available in prize money. All proceeds raised will be going to purchase another 1872 life membership in Rangers First, which you may have noticed yesterday breached the 1 million share mark. If you combine Rangers First with the RST Buy Rangers campaign the fan groups now own 2.5% of the club. Combined they have almost 11,000 members contributing monthly payments from as little as £5.  If you haven’t joined up yet, please do so to either or both.

Game Tonight & RSC Update

Thanks to those that attended the recent AGM. It was a relief to finally get it done after a few call-offs!
 .
Some of the key highlights include a few changes to committee positions including myself standing down as president – 10 years has been quite enough!
I’d therefore like to formally congratulate Darren Hosie as the new president of the club – he is a virtual ever-present at all the games, so I know we are in very good hands.
Personally, I will continue on as part of the committee as I have replaced Richard Bulgin as secretary. Thanks for your efforts Richard.
Thanks also go out to our outgoing treasurer Gary Stewart who will be departing Hong Kong shortly. Alistair MacLeod has stepped forward to replace Gary.
Also thanks to Brian Buchanan for his help on the committee prior to his departure back to Scotland.
In my new role, I’ll endeavour to get the minutes out from the AGM in the not to distant future.
 .
Gary & Keys Dinner
I’m delighted to say we have filled up our first table for the upcoming charity dinner with Andy Gray & Richard Keys. A number of you contacted me to say you are still waiting on work & travel commitments, so at the moment we have our second table half filled too. If any of you know for sure now, please let me know, or if you have still to get in touch, please do so as soon as possible.
 .
Rangers v Livingston (a)
For the match tonight, this will be shown live in the Trafalgar – there was a doubt as they had some (much needed!) renovations this week, but all has been completed and the bar will be open for us as normal. Kick-off is 10pm and will be shown via Rangers TV.

Rangers v Queen of the South – 10pm tonight!

Tonight Rangers welcome Queen of the South to Ibrox which should provide a decent enough test for Rangers following convincing wins recently against Clyde & Dumbarton.

Kick-off is 10pm and will be screened live in the Trafalgar via Rangers TV.

Rangers v Dundee Utd – Battle Fever 2014

Following the hugely disappointing display and result in last week’s Ramsdens Cup final, tonight the players have a chance to massively redeem themselves in what is easily our biggest match of the season so far.

Dundee United will come calling to a “neutral” Ibrox tonight with a place in the Scottish Cup Final next month up for grabs. There is no doubt we are going to be up against it with injuries to key players, Cammy Bell the most recent suffering through a training ground incident. Steve Simonsen will come in though and has been a more than able deputy.  Lee Wallace looks also to be struggling as are David Templeton & Andy Little. Add to that the long term injury to Lewis MacLeod and we are potentially missing 5 starting players. What this means to the remainder of the squad is that they will have to step up and show the qualities required to be a Ranger. Jock Wallace summed it up once before with his famous Battle Fever quote and that is exactly what we need tonight, from the fans in the stand right through to the substitutes on the bench.

Kick-off is 7:45pm and will be shown live in the Trafalgar via Rangers TV.
