Rangers fans have always, and will always, be the biggest investors in the club. This site will be used as a guide to the level of financial input the supporters would be willing to make should the time come to invest in Rangers. The days of one man owning Rangers should be in the past and we, the support, should become financial stakeholders to ensure our great club will never end up in a similar situation again.

Everyone at the Hong Kong RSC would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to both Lorenzo Amoruso & Andy Goram for being terrific guests over the last few days.

Both of these fine gentlemen are a still a credit to Rangers. Nothing was any trouble for them as they happily spoke to fans, signed autographs & stood for photos. Both were very approachable and had some wonderful tales from a real golden era of The Rangers.

So to “Big Amo” & “The Goalie” thanks again and we wish you well & safe travels on your onward journey to Perth, Western Australia for the ORSA AGM.

Goram & Amoruso ! Q&A Tonight in Amici !! BE THERE !!!

It’s a big weekend for us here in Hong Kong with Andy Goram & Lorenzo Amoruso due to arrive in tomorrow night and be whisked to Amici in time for the 11pm kick-off against Killie (via Rangers TV by the way!). Let’s all do what we can to come along to Amici and welcome our guests of honour. Let’s show them that even though we are miles away our support and love of the club has not diminished one iota.

By late last night there were only 1,000 tickets left for Ibrox as our great support have answered to call to get right behind the team. Yet again our manager, Super Ally, is leading the way as he issued a rallying cry in the midst of the Ibrox insolvency crisis, quashing all talk of quitting by declaring:

‘This is my club, the same as it is for thousands and thousands of Rangers supporters, and we don’t do walking away.’

This was on the back of the administrators releasing a fairly detailed statement and answered questions from the press. If you care to watch the entire press conference, it can be viewed here on the STV website.

Back to our events, can I please ask that as well as coming along tomorrow night, that we ensure we make it along on Monday night for the Q&A, and also do what you can to encourage friends, family, team-mates and colleagues to come along also. As it’s free entry we are hoping the evening will be very well attended.

The players have also informed me that they will be bringing along some memorabilia to raffle and auction so it will be a great chance to get a hold of some prized material.

I’m not even sure where to start with last weeks cup performance as for the fourth time this season we have been eliminated at an early stage. It was said Ally used to take the cup teams when Walter was manager and if that was true, his record was outstanding, whereas now it’s seems to be something of an Achilles heel!

It was especially hard to take after yet another battering in the press. To be honest though, nothing has changed; we are still open season for the likes of the BBC and the Daily Record, when the truth is no one knows what is happening. Our former chairman, Alistair Johnston, piping up with all sort of masked allegations isn’t helping either – with friends like these, who needs enemies….!

It’s really is just a case of let’s wait and see what happens. Craig Whyte, as is his style, has come out fighting and spoken as forthright as he can without giving too much away to the likes of the Rangers Supporters Trust, again giving me hope that he is in this for the good of the club.

Anyway, enough of the negativity as here in Hong Kong we’ve got plenty to look forward to, starting this Saturday night as the Rangers travel to East End Park to face Dunfermline in the “early” game. The kick-off is 8pm local time and it will be shown live in Amici via Goal TV1.

It’s also just over a week until our guests of honour, The Goalie & big Amo arrive in Hong Kong. I got an interesting text message from Amoruso last week telling me he was looking forward to enjoying the city and the sunshine…….any volunteers to pass on the bad news…??!!

For the race-day in Shatin I think we are up to 31 places from the maximum 40 we can fit in, so if anyone is still thinking about coming along, please get in touch ASAP. For those that have already indicated they are coming along, I will send out a further email early next week with all the details.

I’ll also be sending out details of our bank account for those that still need to pay their annual fees for the year – with the players due to arrive very shortly, we have a number of invoices to settle, such as their hotel, so all of this will be useful !

Finally, and if that was not enough, I’m in the process of arranging a friendly / testimonial football match in honour of our current secretary Colin Reid. Colin is due to depart Hong Kong permanently for New York in approximately 2 weeks time. For this i’m in the process of arranging a team to play at the HKFC, with the most likely date to be a week today, so on Friday 17th Feb (or maybe Tuesday 21st). If anyone would be interested in playing for the HKRSC, then please let me know.

Cup game not live in Hong Kong this weekend

It’s been quite a week considering we sold Jelavic to Everton on the final day of the transfer window. There is no doubt that it is a blow, as up front is one area we are severely lacking in depth, especially with Naismith out for the season and Lafferty for another 2-3 weeks. That heaps a lot of pressure on David Healy, but it gives him a chance to become a hero to the Rangers legions.

Reflecting on the last few days, to me Jelavic’s mind had already gone a few weeks ago and he hadn’t exactly performed for us recently. In fact you could argue the 2 better home performances we’ve had this season have been against Hibs last week and Motherwell before that……both games Jelavic missed.

And lets not forget the quality we have elsewhere in the team. McGregor in goals is still one of Britain’s top stoppers. Our Defence is very strong – the centre-back pairing of both Bocanegra & Gioan has been a seamless replacement to both Weir and Bougherra. Papac is the Papac and Wallace just gets better each week.

Our midfield has really started ticking too. Edu has been a stand-out performer in the last 3-4 games and Davis looks close to being back to his best. Aluko has been a revelation I would say though and as his match sharpness improves further he should only get better and better. We also have the prospect of Mervan Celik to come. Although we’ve yet to see him, the word is that this young lad is a very exciting prospect.

All in all it’s not all doom and gloom. Yes, it would have been nice to get another striker to add some depth, but we’ve been here before having sold both Boyd & Miller in the two previous winter transfer windows.

So it’s backs to the wall once again as we fight for our fourth successive title. Certainly don’t rule us out, that’s for sure.

Of course there have been plenty of other off-field antics this week too, and we could be here all week trying to second guess what is exactly going on. The truth is no one will really know what is going to happen until the HMRC case result has come out in the coming 3-4 weeks, and even then there is the prospect of either side appealing. What I will say though is i’ve been mighty impressed with the way that Whyte has conducted his business so far. Changes have happened in many areas of the Club that needed improvement, such as having a much better PR team than before. Commercially they seem to exploring new markets, improvements to the stadium have been made, a bigger and better family section, the scoreboards have been finally replaced, the new Rangers website is great, social media is very active, etc. All of this shows that they at least have a commercial brain that the last board never seemed to embrace.

Getting onto the game it’s not good news this weekend as we go into the Scottish Cup tie against Dundee Utd at home. For whatever reason the agreement in place with the SFA does not allow Rangers to stream the game online, so like the last round against Arbroath, we will once again face a black-out. So as you would expect nothing will be shown in Amici.

The game is being screened live in the UK on the BBC, so I’m sure there will be some sites available that will have a very dodgy feed.

Finally, with regards to the Amoruso & Goram race day at Shatin, we are now up to 24 places, so 16 places are still available if you would like to come along.

It will no doubt be a terrific day.

Hibs next up at Ibrox

It was yet another stuttering performance at Ibrox last weekend and we dropped a further 2 points in the title race. It certainly wasn’t our worst display, but for whatever reason we just couldn’t convert any chances. As far as I can see Jelavic’s mind is already elsewhere and it’s come to the point that I think he would be better to move him on – as long as we get someone decent to replace him…and all before the transfer window slams shut in about 4 days time!

Getting back to our home form, it really has been been quite woeful – I think that was our fourth home draw of the season in the league, which as a result leaves us trailing Celtc by 4 points. Thankfully titles are not awarded in January though. However with that in mind I doubt we can afford to drop many more points, especially at home. Which will mean 3 points will be required tomorrow evening as we entertain Hibs at Ibrox. Celtc don’t play a league game until next Wednesday night as they travel through to face Hearts (always a tricky fixture), so it will be important to apply a little bit of pressure ahead of that game.

As ever the Rangers game will be covered live in Amici. The kick-off is 11pm again, and because of this means the game will only be covered by Rangers TV.

The Dons next up at Ibrox

Last weekend the Rangers produced a very professional performance to wrap up the 3 points in Perth. Although it took a fairly late goal to win the match we were always comfortable. In fact I don’t think I can fault anyone of the players as they all had very good games with Edu & Aluko the standout performers.

This coming Saturday we see Rangers face their last game in the Year of the Rabbit as we “welcome” Aberdeen to Ibrox. As always i’m sure they will treat this like a cup final, and with that I hope we turn them over.

As ever the game will be shown live in Amici and kick-off at 11:00pm on Saturday night. Please note that game will be shown via Rangers TV

Rangers travel to McDiarmid Park

Last week saw Rangers overcome the potentially tricky Scottish Cup tie against Arbroath. It seemed the weather conditions were favourable which helped Rangers secure a comfortable 4-0 victory. Goals came from a number of sources as, along with an og, Healy, Jelavic and the lesser spotted Kerkar all chipped in.

It was a decent performance but the very least we would expect against lower league opposition. However, it would have certainly helped to build a bit more confidence following the fragile month of December. Next up in the Scottish Cup is a home tie against Dundee Utd.

It’s back to league football this weekend as the Champions travel to Perth to play St. Johnstone in the early Saturday kick-off.

It kick-s off at 8:30pm and will be screened live in Amici via Goal TV 1.

In other news, I received a call a few weeks ago from Andrew Dickson of the Rangers Media department and gave him a telephone interview as they wanted to run a feature on us for the Rangers Monthly. I’m delighted to say that we have been included in this month’s edition so be sure to go out and buy it!
