A quick update  again as we enter the final SPL weekend. As it stands it seems today is yet another D-Day in the potential sale of the club…..but as you know we’ve heard it all before!

Back to footballing matters Rangers travel through to Perth to face St. Johnstone in our final SPL fixture of the season. Whether this may be the final Rangers appearance for a number of our players is the question.

This match kicks off at 7:30pm on Sunday evening and will be shown live via Rangers TV in Amici.

It’s with great delight that we can announce that Rangers will be sending 2 teams to compete in the HKFC Citibank International Soccer 7s. http://www.hksoccersevens.com/

The Rangers Youth team have been competing in this tournament since 2005 and had been invited once more. With the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Club itself we were unsure if they would be coming to compete. Thankfully they are though and everyone here at the Hong Kong RSC look forward to welcoming them back. As an added bonus to Bears in Hong Kong, a team of Rangers veterans will be coming to the 7′s to compete in the Masters section of the tournament and they will represent the Citibank All Stars.  They will be led by John “Bomber” Brown who was the winning coach back in 2008 when the “Rangers Legends” won the Soccer 7s Masters event.

Not all of Bombers squad has been named as yet, but at the moment the squad looks like this: Andy Goram, Lorenzo Amoruso, Marvin Andrews, Scott Nisbet, Neil Murray, Alex Rae, Derek Ferguson & Charlie Miller! 2 more names have still to be added and we will let you know who they are when we do. The actual tournament will be held from the 18th to the 21st May at the Hong Kong Football Club in Happy Valley and tickets can be bought in advance from HK Ticketing. http://www.hkticketing.com/eng/

We Are The People & Simply The Best

With all the off-field news its almost been easy to forget that we have an Old Firm game to contend with this coming Sunday.

Even though the league has been decided there is a lot of pride at stake with this game, so I fully expect Ally to have the players well up for this match.

Clearly we have bigger issues to contend with as the administration process just drags on and on so it will be nice to focus in some football for a change.

Last weekend provided another tough lesson as a number of young players were asked to come in and do a job for us as we suffered from multiple injuries and suspensions. In fact 3 players that started for us last weekend all played at last year’s Soccer 7’s; Ross Perry, Rhys McCabe & Andrew Mitchell and to be fair they all did very well. If you add McGregor, Little & Davis, then more than half of the starting line-up have all played at the Soccer 7’s!

Thankfully both Bocanegra & Goian are back from suspension plus there are rumours Whittaker & Lafferty may also return following long term injures.

It will be a real test for us, as if Motherwell fail to win on Saturday, it could mean Celtc could win the title at Ibrox if they were to defeat us.

We all know our home form has not been great but I for one think the players will rise to the challenge as this game will take on much more than a simple 3 points, so I say bring it on!

For the Red & Black scarves we ordered they have still not arrived as yet, but we are hoping they will be here tomorrow as ideally we would have them for the game on Sunday.

For those going along to the rugby the actual cup final is due to start at 7pm on the Sunday night and our match will kick-off at 8pm, so there should be just enough time to make it along to Amici for kick-off following the cup presentation scheduled for 7:25pm.
